Brandon Johnson with a bonsai in his garden

Brandon Johnson

Co-Founder and Instructor

Background

Hey, I'm Brandon. I'm on a mission to prove that bonsai isn't just for zen masters, collectors, or people with decades of gardening experience. It's for anyone who's ever looked at a tiny tree and thought, "That's awesome."

Bonsai Pop-Up was created to make bonsai more approachable by bringing trees directly to local breweries, events, and communities. I love helping people find a tree they connect with, learn a few care tips, and leave excited to start (or grow) their bonsai journey.

Teaching

Whether you're picking up your very first bonsai or searching for the perfect addition to your collection, I'm here to make the experience fun, relaxed, and a little less intimidating. No gatekeeping, no confusing jargon—just beautiful little trees and good conversations.

Off the clock

When I'm not caring for my own bonsai collection, you can find me exploring new techniques, hunting for unique trees, or dreaming up the next Bonsai Pop-Up event. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions!

Can't wait to see you soon!
